I thought I would get a record shot of this GREY PLOVER just incase it was a rareity in the area. It turned out it was only the 7th inland record for Thailand!
So this morning I was up early to arrive at the east side of Kaeng Lawa Lake at first light hoping to relocate yesterdays Isabelline Shrike. After four hours I gave up and came away with just 2 Amur Wagtail, single Plentive Cuckoo, Yellow Bittern, Purple Heron, Black-winged Kite and the Bluethroat and Siberian Rubythroat. No sign of the Brown or Isabelline Shrike.

I thought I return later on before I return to my digs but after goin through the 14 Teal and over 300 Garganey at the south end of the lake and no sign of the two mega ducks. It was further along the track where I found the waders included Long-toed and Temmink’s Stint, Pin-tailed and Common Snipe, 2 Ruff and a single Grey Plover. I thought I’d take a record shot of the latter species just incase it’s rarity in these parts. Nearby I also had Pied Harrier, 2 Yellow Bittern and over 300 Lesser-whistling Duck. I gave it an hour at the Isabelline Shrike site and left earlier than usual and made my way back to the city.
